In the spring of 2003, I formed Gaynor Consulting to support the development of transformational workplace leaders. It was my own experience as a senior leader that gave me a passion for transformational leadership - for taking teams to new levels of performance. I'm convinced that all successful leaders are transforming their teams in some way; real leadership is about taking people into new territory. The best leaders don't just run teams; they build and improve them. Almost twenty years of senior leadership taught me this. I approached each leadership challenge - and they included three integrations, and several turn around projects - by building strong leadership teams. These teams were the key to each success. Through Gaynor Consulting I now teach the same skills and practices I used to develop my own teams.
I'm also convinced that in this era of shrinking workforces leadership development is fast becoming an important key to survival. Talented employees are discovering that they don't have to work for a company that isn't meeting their needs and they are moving to the best workplaces. This trend will accelerate.
